Teenaged boy killed in road accident

Banka, Feb 25 (PTI) A 12 year-old boy was killed inan accident on Doraiya-Sanhaula road at Kaharia village inBihar''s Banka district today, police said.

The boy was on his way home at Bhagwan village afterattending classes in a madarsa when he accidently came underthe wheel of a truck and died on the spot.

The truck driver was arrested on charges of rashdriving and his vehicle impounded, the police said.

The death sparked a strong protest by locals whoblocked the road for three hours.

SDO Amit Kumar and deputy superintendent of policerushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.

The truck owner agreed to pay a compensation of Rs50000 to the bereaved family, the police added.
