Stolen goods worth Rs 1.73 crore returned to their owners
Kapurthala (Punjab), Feb 26 (PTI) Police today returnedgoods worth Rs 1.73 crore stolen from various places in Punjabto their respective owners by organising a function at localpolice lines here, police said.
The goods restored to their owners include two-wheelers,four-wheelers, laptops, computers and jewellery, the policesaid, adding, they also returned cash worth several thousandrupees to the people who were robbed at highways and otherisolated places in the state.
Jalandhar Zonal IGP R P Mittal directed all the SSPsof Jalandhar range to hold such functions in their respectivedistricts every month to return stolen goods to their ownersafter obtaining release orders from the courts, police said.
