SC refuses to entertain PIL by victims of terrorism in Punjab
New Delhi, Feb 25 (PTI) The Supreme Court today refusedto entertain a PIL filed by victims of terrorism in Punjabseeking a direction to the government to rehabilitate them.
A bench headed by the Chief Justice S H Kapadia declinedto pass any order on a petition filed by Terrorist ViolenceVictims Association and asked it to approach the Punjab andHaryana High Court.
"Why don''t you go to the High Court? How can we go onpassing a direction as if the High Court does not exist," thebench said.
Advocate Pradeep Gupta, appearing for the petitioner,submitted persons who were displaced during the period ofterrorism in the state have not been properly rehabilitated.
He pleaded the court should pass a direction to thegovernment to provide a job to at least one member of eachdisplaced family.
