KMF announces special discount on cattle feed

Bangalore, Feb 26 (PTI) Karnataka Milk Federation hasdecided to accord a special discount to Nandini cattle feedand mineral mixture for a period of one month to enable milkproducers to meet the increased cost production owing toscarcity of fodder during the summer season.

The Karnataka Milk Federation in its Board meeting heldearlier this week decided to grant a discount of Rs 500 pertonne of Nandini Cattle Feed and Rs 20 per kg of NandiniMineral Mixture from March one till the end of the month, arelease said here today.

The discount was in view of the fact that during summer,milk producers were forced to battle with the issue ofdecrease in availability of fodder, thereby resulting in highcost of milk production.

G Somashekara Reddy, Chairman, KMF and A S Premnath,Managing Director hoped that the discount would enable farmersto sustain in production of milk and maintain the health oftheir animals.
