Ganga Arti performed in Patna
Patna, Feb 25 (PTI) A ganga arti was today performedat the Gandhi ghat by a group of priests who chanted religioushymns to please the holy river.
An event resembling that of Varanasi''s famedDashaswamedh ghat held every Tuesday and Saturday, the priestsstood on specially-erected platforms and animately chantedhymns holding golden lamps in their hands.
Thousands of spectators, including the Deputy ChiefMinister Sushil Kumar Modi and Tourism Minister Sunil Kumar''Pintu'', were in attendance to witness the Ganga Arti.
The ''Ganga Arti'' in Patna has been conceived in a bidto woo the tourists, the tourism department officials said,adding the event will be held every Tuesday and Saturday. PTIKDK
