Farmer attempts suicide at Beed

Beed, Feb 25(PTI) A farmer allegedly harassed by a moneylender consumed poison at the District Collector''s office heretoday.

He was hospitalised and his condition is stated to beserious, according to sources.

Police said that the farmer, identified as RameshKumbhar, consumed some poison at the Collector''s office.

He was harassed by a money lender at the Yelamghatvillage of the Beed district. Police rushed him to thedistrict civil hospital where his condition was stated to becritical.

Shivaji nagar police have registered a case and furtherinvestigations are on, police said.
