Counterfeit notes supplier arrested

Kishanganj, Feb 26 (PTI) Police today arrested asupplier of counterfeit currency and seized seven fake notesin the denomination of Rs. 500 each from Belwa villagein Bihar''s Kishanganj district, a police official said.

Acting on a tip off, the police raided a hideout andarrested one Moklesh Rahman, a native of Malda district ofWest Bengal, with the fake currency even as his otherassociates managed to escape, the Superintendent of Police(SP) Ranjeet Kumar Mishra said.

The accused has confessed to supplying counterfeitnotes from West Bengal to agents in Kishanganj and otherbordering districts in Bihar for past several years, hesaid.
