''CM should look into grievances of ST community in JK''

Jammu, Feb 26 (PTI) Alleging that the Scheduled Tribecommunity was not getting the benefits of development in Jammuand Kashmir, Gujjars today urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullahto look into the grievances of the community.

"Chief Minister should look into the grievances ofScheduled Tribe community which we are bringing to his notice.

The true benefits are not reaching the masses of the STcommunity," President of Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar MahasabhaIshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal told reporters here.

Crores of rupees have been spent on the development ofthe ST community but the money does not reach the grassrootslevel and has been syphoned off, he claimed.

Poswal alleged that the recent recruitment in the policedepartment for the posts of constables carried discrepancieswith regard to the ST community and asked the Chief Ministerto probe it.

He alleged that in Srinagar, the community was not givenits due share of 31 posts out of total 316 posts inrecruitments.

Similar treatment was given to members of the STcommunity in Budgam, Baramulla, Pulawama in the recruitment ofconstables, he claimed.
