Agatha calls NE states to be self-dependent
Itanagar, Feb 26 (PTI) Union Minister of State forRural Development, Agatha Sangma has urged the north easternstates to mobilize own resources to end their dependence onthe Centre.
"Instead of being dependent totally on Centralgovernment for financial assistance Arunachal Pradesh as wellas other north eastern states should build up their own properplanning and strategy to help enhance revenue generation,"Sangma told reporters here last evening.
To a question on fund allocation for cash-starvedstates, she said Arunachal with its geographical disadvantage,communication hazard and hostile terrain was a sufferer.
Sangma, however, said that she would continue to raisethe issue to the central leaders to get more fund for thenorth eastern states.
Responding to question that Arunachal withouttelecommunication facility is lacking in managementinformation system (MIS), the minister said she would raisethe issue to the central leaders.
