CBI permitted to handover summons to Lavalin''s Delhi office
Kochi, Feb 24 (PTI) A CBI Special court today permittedthe agency to hand over summons to the Delhi office ofCanadian multinational company SNC-Lavalin, an accused in thegraft case relating to renovation of three Hydel projects inKerala in the 1990s.
The order in this regard was issued by special courtJudge K P Jyothindranath.
CBI counsel had earlier told the court that fresh summonsmay be served on the company, represented by its CEOs and itcan be handed over to CBI, which would take all steps to serveit. The company is the ninth accused in the case.
The summons sent earlier by post to its Delhi officecould not be served.
The court on February 11 had issued non bailable arrestwarrant to Klaus Trendl, former Vice President of company.
The case relates to alleged corruption in awarding ofcontracts to SNC Lavalin for renovation of three hydelprojects in 1998, when the present CPI(M) state secretaryPinarayi Vijayan was power minister.
