Residents picket Minister''s house,say irregularites in free TV

Dindigul, Feb 24 (PTI): More than 250 people picketed theResidence of state revenue and Housing minister I Periyasamyhere today to protest against alleged irregularities indistribution of free colour Television sets.
The residents alleged that officials had not kept theirpromise to give all card holders TV sets and that some DMKward secretaries had taken away two or three sets, leading toa shortage.
The residents staged a picketing before the house anddisrupted traffic for more than one hour before police arrivedon the scene and dispersed them.
Officials maintained they had not got enough number of TVsets for distribution. Similar agitations, demanding freecolour tv sets were held at some other areas.
