Pune bandh probe:Voice samples of Sena leaders to be collected
Pune, Feb 24 (PTI) Voice samples of two Shivsena leaders--party MLC Neelam Gorhe and Milind Narvekar, personalsecretary to Sena Executive president Uddhav Thackeray-- willbe collected by Pune police as part of investigation into therole of the duo in "hatching a conspiracy" to incite violenceon December 28, 2010 when a bandh was observed here to protestthe removal of statue of Dadoji Kondadev.
Police had booked the two leaders-- who were latergranted bail-- for their alleged telephonic conversationintercepted on December 27, purportedly deliberating a plan todisturb law and order situation in the city and putting buseson fire during the bandh.
Investigating police inspector Suhas Nadgouda, told PTItoday that he received a court order on Wednesday grantingpermission to collect voice samples of Gorhe and Narvekar tocorroborate the evidence contained in the CD of the tapedconversation alleged to have taken place between the Senaleaders.
"The time and date of obtaining the voice samples has notbeen fixed so far", he added.
According to the complaint registered by police, Narvekarhad allegedly instructed Gorhe in Pune to mobilise the Senaactivists on the Bandh day to set buses on fire and manage aTV crew to take shots of the trouble spots.
