Videocon d2h offers 19 new channels

Mumbai, Feb 22 (PTI) Videocon d2h, the DTH arm of theVideocon group, today said that it has added a total of 19channels -- six in HD and 13 Standard Definition Channels onits platform.

The HD channel offerings will allow customers to watchtheir favourite programmes in the high definition format.

"Videocon d2h has launched these channels keeping theneeds of the growing market in mind," the company said in apress release issued here.

Videocon d2h has maximum number of 282 channels andservices with a very strong regional content for theirspecific audiences along with all the sports channels onboard.

The customers can watch their favorite channels in HDformat by subscribing to its HD channels. The 13 new channelsare from genres like English entertainment, kids andinfotainment, among others, the release said.

Videocon Group''s Director, Saurabh Dhoot, said, "we havehad excellent growth rates from the time of launch. Ourobjective is to catalyse our penetration, offer channels andservices across genres, increase our subscriber-base andbetter our ARPUs. We are confident that with these 19channels, we will be in a position to create, not only adifferential in the market, but achieve better penetration,through the exclusivity of content."

The newly added channels in the HD format are DiscoveryHD, NGC HD, Movies Now HD, Travel XP, HD Active Music and HDd2h Movies.

The 13 new channels in the standard definition formatBaby TV, Spacetoon, Movies Now (SD), FX, Fox Crime, Big CBSPrime, Discovery Science, Discovery Turbo, NGC Wild, NGCAdventure, NGC Music, Live India and Dhoom Music.

Videocon d2h has monthly subscription packages like NewGold, New Gold Sports, New Diamond and Platinum Packs. Theprice range starts from Rs 150 onwards.
