Raja''s brother questioned by ED

New Delhi, Feb 27 (PTI) Kalia Perumal, brother offormer Telcom minister A Raja, was today questioned for overthree hours by the Enforcement Directorate in connection withits probe in the 2G spectrum scam.

Official sources said Perumal, a businessman, wassummoned to the ED office here for his statement regarding thefinancial dealings of some of the firms which he controlled.

Sources said he was quizzed for over three hoursduring which he also wrote down his statement.

Perumal has also been questioned by the CBI earlier inconnection with their parallel probe into the scam.

The ED along with the CBI had also raided premises ofhis firms late last year.

Sources said the investigating teams are trying tofind out if his companies acted as a front for Raja''sfinancial dealings.

The agencies are probing the money trail in the scam.

Though officials were tightlipped about the line ofquestioning, sources said, he was asked about financialtransactions and his dealings with certain firms.

Sources said he may be questioned again. Raja,arrested by CBI in connection with the scam in 2G spectrumallocation, is in Tihar jail after the court remanded him injudicial custody.

The ED has registered a case under Prevention of MoneyLaundering Act (PMLA) in connection with the spectrum scam.

Besides certain government employees, both the ED andthe CBI have also trained their guns on corporate honchos andare in the process of questioning telecom firm officials.
