President''s address outlines govt''s priorities: Cong
New Delhi, Feb 21 (PTI) Congress today welcomedPresident Pratibha Patil''s address to the joint sitting ofmembers of Parliament saying it clearly outlined thegovernment''s priorities.
Party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said that thePresident''s address showed that containing inflation is theforemost priority of the government and also reflected itsgenuine concern about lack of probity in public life.
The spokesperson said while the address highlightedthe government''s committment to sustaining momentum of growthon the one hand, it also echoed the focus on including allsections in the process of development on the other.
Singhvi downplayed a question on why the plight ofTamil fishermen in Sri Lankan waters did not find a mentionin Patil''s address, saying it was not possible to include eachand every issue in the address but non-mentioning of any issuein it does not mean that the government was not serious aboutit.
