Panchayat secretary, mukhia arrested for taking graft

Patna, Feb 22 (PTI) Vigilance sleuths today arrested apanchayat secretary and a mukhia (head) of Mithia panchayat ofFullidumar block in Bihar''s Banka district for taking a bribeof Rs. 35,000 from some teachers, a senior Vigilance officialsaid.

Acting on a specific complaint, the Vigilance teamlaid a trap and caught the Panchayat Secretary Vipin BihariMandal and the mukhia Jageshwar Marandi while he was receivinga bribe from the teachers, the Additional Director General ofPolice (ADGP), Vigilance, P.K. Thakur said.

The accused had taken bribe from the teachers forimplementing orders of appelate authority regarding teachers''appointment, he said.
