Land acquisition policy can be amended: Hooda
Chandigarh, Feb 21 (PTI) Facing criticism overacquisition of farmland for projects, Haryana Chief MinisterBhupinder Singh Hooda today said the state�s land acquisitionpolicy could be further amended.
"There is always a scope for improvement and this policyhas already been amended a couple of times," he told reportershere at the end of the state cabinet meeting.
He claimed the land acquisition policy of the stategovernment was the best but can be amended to further improveit.
"The policies of Haryana government are pro-farmer," heclaimed.
"The state government is open to any suggestion and theCongress government in the state is not in favour of makingdevelopment by annoying the common people," he said.
Hooda''s cabinet colleague Ajay Singh Yadav and UnionMinister Selja have in recent past urged Hooda not to acquirefertile land of farmers in Rewari and Ambala districts forvarious projects.
Main opposition INLD has also been targeting Hooda on landacquisition by the state agencies in different parts of thestate.
