Five persons involved in murder and robbery cases arrested

New Delhi, Feb 21 (PTI) Five persons involved in severalcases of dacoity and murder in various parts of the nationalcapital, have been arrested, police said today.

They were arrested in the course of a routine check onouter Ring Road, near AU block in Pritampura at around 8.45 PMyesterday, they said.

Umar Ali and Afsar on one motorcycle and Hari Singh andNaushad on another were stopped as they were not wearing ahelmet, said Meenu Choudhary Deputy Commissioner of PoliceNorth West District.

They failed to produce the registration documents ofthe motorcycles, raising suspicion. They were searched and twodesi loaded guns of .12 bore and .315 bore with livecartridges were found in their possession.

During interrogation, Afsar, the leader of the gang,was found to have been involved in 15 criminal cases, while healong with his gang members were found to be involved in 19other cases of loot and dacoity.

Afsar has formed different small gangs to carry outthe dacoity and robbery, he has a strong network of informers,who provide information about the prospective wealthy victims.

He used to reward his informers after the execution ofcrime, police said, adding during criminal act they even notfeared to shoot those who protest.
