Five persons injured in clash

Lucknow, Feb 21 (PTI) Five persons, including threefarmers and two PAC jawans were today injured when theyclashed with each other in Noida, a senior officer said here.

Two vehicles of the G company of 32nd battalion of PACwere today intercepted by farmers, who were already sitting ondharna in Paswal village in Damkaul, Special Director Generalof Police Brij Lal told reporters here.

He said that later the farmers indulged in unprovokedbrick batting and opened fire several rounds.

"While two PAC jawas were injured, one more was heldcaptive by the villagers and an LMG was snatched," Lal said.

He said that in retaliatory action, the jawan wasrescued and three farmers were injured.

"While one farmer was discharged, two are stilladmitted in the hospital. Senior officers have reached thespot and situation is under control," he said.
