Five persons injured after clash between two groups

Kanpur, Feb 22 (PTI) At least five persons were injuredafter a clash broke out between two groups over allegedeve teasing of a girl at Kalyanpur area here, police said.

A man identified as Deepak allegedly eve-teased a girlnamed Akansha (16), a student of Class XI regularly on her wayto school, SP (City) Kushhar Saurabh said.

Miffed over this, Akashana''s father Om Prakash Tiwarialong with his son and some of their associates barged intoDeepak''s house last night and beat him up, he said.

Following this, Deepak along with some of his accomplicescreated a furore in front of Tiwari''s house and attacked hisfamily members after being stone pelted by them, he said.

As many as five persons were injured from both sides inthe clash, Saurabh said.

Tiwari also alleged that Akansha sustained seriousinjuries after she was attacked with a knife.

Meanwhile, police has taken some persons into its custodyand an investigation is on to ascertain whether it was a caseof eve teasing or not, the SP added.
