FIR registered against 15 persons for protesting

Lucknow, Feb 22 (PTI) An FIR has been lodged against15 people in connection with protest by Moallim-e-Urdu degreeholders, who climbed atop an overhead water tank andthreatened to commit suicide.

While an FIR has been lodged against six, who climbedon the tank, a case has been lodged against nineoffice-bearers of the Association on charges of inciting,police said here today.

Six Moallim-e-Urdu degree holders, including threewomen, yesterday climbed atop the water tank demanding the UPgovernment to recognise their degree equivalent to BasicTraining Certificate, police said.

The police later used force to bring down the protesters,who refused to budge, despite assurance by senior officials tolook into their demands.
