Bhopal will be renamed Bhojpal
Bhopal, Feb.22 (ANI): Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh may soon be renamed as 'Bhojpal'.
The city is set to get a new name, after the famous Indian king Raja Bhoj known for his wisdom.
Local leaders told reporters that this proposal would be tabled before the State's legislature for endorsement and enactment.
"We believe that if Bhopal is renamed as Bhojpal then the new generation will know about the change in history and also as to how the city was founded or formed." said Vishwas Saran, a legislator.
Locals gave a mixed reaction. Some appreciated the idea while some believe that changing the name will not be good for the city.
"It will take us ages to make an image of Bhojpal, I think we are okay with Bhopal and that is how we are known on the international sphere, we known as Bhopalis, It won't be right to change the name and they should let it be," said a local. (ANI)
