4 arrested for double murder in Udampur
Jammu, Feb 21 (PTI) Four persons have been arrestedfor their alleged involvement in a double murder, happenedearly this month in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir,police said today.
"We have solved the mysterious double murder case andarrested four persons after Special Investigation Team (SIT)worked very hard to crack the case," Deputy Inspector General(DIG) Udhampur-Reasi Range Jagjit Kumar told reporters.
Two MES employees Moti Ram and Bodh Raj, both inelectrical department, were killed by a sharp edged weapon onthe intervening night of February 1 and 2 at MES headquartersin the district.
An SIT team, headed by Additional SP Udhampur, tookover the probe into the case and arrested the four -- a MESemployee Jagpaul, his brother Balbir, Hari Dass and Om Parkeshfor their alleged involvement into the murder. The fifthaccused Tara Chand is absconding.
According to the police, the duo were killed, whiletrying to fail a dacoity attempt at the headquarters.
