J-K govt orders probe into fake allotments of govt land
Jammu, Feb 20 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir government hasordered a probe into alleged fake allotments of the state andEvacuee Property land.
"Government has received various complaints regardingfake allotments of the state and EP land in different areas.
We have ordered an inquiry into it," Raman Bhalla, Ministerfor Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, said during aninspection at Bahu fort area here.
The minister asked Revenue officials to inquire intothe complaints and take necessary actions to retrieve theplots.
Bhalla directed officials to fence all the governmentland as per revenue record to keep grabbers at bay.
The government is planning to use the state land forinfrastructure development and other purposes likeconstruction of schools and multipurpose community halls, hesaid.
The minister sought cooperation of the people inidentifying the encroached land and asked them to approach thespecial complaint cells in their respective area. He alsoappealed people to post information regarding land grabbers onwebsite [email protected].
The Minister asked grabbers to vacate landvoluntarily, or face action under Public Safety Act.
