Naam Tamilar Katchi to work for defeat of Cong in TN

Coimbatore, Feb 20 (PTI): Accusing Congress of workingagainst Tamils in Sri Lanka and supporting the islandnation''s government, Naam Tamilar Katchi today said it wouldstrive hard for the defeat of all Congress candidates in theassembly elections in Tamil Nadu scheduled in May.

Speaking to reporters here, NTK founder leader and TamilFilm director Seeman alleged Congress was working againstTamils and supporting Sri Lanka, ''shattering'' the dreams ofTamils there to have a separate Eelam in that nation,

"The NTK will campaign against Congress, wherever it fieldscandidates," he said.

Asked about extending to support to other parties, hesaid the party, which was not not after power or to oust orinstall a government, would campaign only against Congress andnot enter any other constituencies.

Blaming both Congress and DMK for the plight of Tamilfishermen on the borders of Sri Lanka,Seeman said the Centre''s''inefficiency'' had emboldened Sri Lanka and its Navy to strikeagainst Tamil fishermen.

He termed as a political and election drama, the protestson the issue by Congress and DMK.
