Man wanted in many cases arrested
New Delhi, Feb 19 (PTI) One person, wanted in sixcases of attempt to murder, motor vehicle theft and burglary,has been arrested, police said today
31-year-old Joginder alias Joga was arrested fromDaryaganj yesterday following a specific information that hewas to come near the Lohe Wala Pul in the area, they said.
Wanted in many cases, Joga had fired at policepersonnel on October 2009 in Khayala locality of west Delhi.
During sustained interrogation he said he along withhis accomplices Parveen and Ranjeet had stolen a car fromRaghuvir Nagar.
When he was stopped by police he fired at thepersonnel. He was also a proclaimed offender in a vehicletheft case of Keshav Puram. Apart from these, he was wanted intwo more cases of vehicle theft and a case of burglary, policesaid, adding, he used to change his address to evade arrest.
It also came to light that he used to steal cars toplease his many girlfriends with whom he used to go for a ridein the stolen vehicles and leave them abandoned wherever theyran out of fuel.
In 2004, he along with his accomplices, was arrestedin a murder and robbery case in Kirti Nagar and was releasedfrom jail in 2008. Thereafter, he started extorting moneyfrom pick pockets and petty criminals in the area of Kalkajiand Raghubir Nagar.
He committed vehicle thefts again along with oneParveen to earn quick money for having fun, police said,adding, further investigation was on.
