Haryana allows occupants of evacuee land to get registered
Chandigarh, Feb 18 (PTI) Haryana Government has allowedcertain categories of occupants of evacuee land or propertiesto get these transferred in their names, subject to certainconditions.
Moreover, they have been asked to apply within six monthsfrom January 25, 2011 to avail themselves of the benefit andif such occupants fail to do so, they would be liable to beevicted besides other action being taken, including recoveryof use and occupation charges, an official spokesman said in arelease issued here today.
He said the applicants who had applied for transfer ofproperty but their cases could not be finalised shall have toapply afresh within six months from January 25, 2011.
Any person with disability, who is in unauthorisedoccupation of evacuee property and applies for transfer, shallbe allowed a concession of 10 per cent of the price of theland or property, he said.
Besides, no stamp duty shall be charged from disabledpersons. This concession will, however, be applicable onlywhere the property is transferred in his name exclusively, butwill not be applicable where only one of the persons to whomthe property is transferred has disability.
Occupants of rural or urban evacuee lands and propertieswho are in possession from January 1, 2001 or earlier, areeligible for transfer of lands or properties in their names,subject to some conditions, at market price.
The spokesman clarified that occupants of all suchcategories shall be liable to pay use and occupation chargesequivalent to 20 per cent of the price of land or propertiesfor the entire period. In case of government-built propertieswhich are in possession, the cost of superstructure shall alsobe recovered in addition to the cost of land.
