Parliamentary committee visits BARC

Mumbai, Feb 17 (PTI) Parliamentary Committee on Scienceand Technology today visited Bhabha Atomic Research Centre tofamiliarise themselves with the latest developments.

The delegation was led by Congress lawmaker T SubbaramiReddy.

"The Parliamentary Committee on Science and Technologyvisited BARC today and it was purely a familiarisationexercise," Director R K Sinha told PTI.

They went around some of the facilities like researchreactor Dhruva'', Food Irradiation and Processing Division,Waste Immobilisation Plant, Hot cells of post-irradiationDivision and Emergency Response division, Sinha said.

Earlier in the day, the Committee met MaharashtraGovernment officials, including those of state PollutionControl Board.
