No confrontation with govt: Micky
Jammu, Feb 17 (PTI) Deputy Chairman of Jammu and KashmirLegislative Council S Arvinder Singh Micky today refuted mediareports speaking about a confrontation between the LegislativeCouncil and the state government over the issue of appointmentof Secretary.
The state cabinet appointed Mohmmad Sayeed Shah for thepost of the Secretary of Legislative Council but Micky did notallow him to join and instead a legislative council cadreofficer Mohmmad Ashraf Shah was appointed as Secretary onFebruary 4.
In a statement issued here today, Micky said there is noconfrontation of any kind as speculated in the media.
He said he has great respect for the Chief Minister andthe government.
"With a view to harmonizing the requirements of theCouncil and keeping up the sanctity and dignity of the Houseregarding the procedure of such appointment, the matter isunder discussion with the state government for early andappropriate resolution", he said and added "blowing theissue out of proportions is totally uncalled for".
