Best wishes for Indian cricket team : PM
New Delhi, Feb 17 (PTI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singhtoday conveyed his best wishes to Indian cricket team and saidhe was looking forward to "cheering" the team.
"I am looking forward to cheering our cricket team andhope that they perform magnificently in the World Cup", hesaid in his best wishes message to Mahendra Singh Dhoni andthe team.
Singh had said yesterday that he hoped Indian teamwould be able win the coveted trophy.
On what he thought about India''s chances in the WorldCup, Singh had said "I am one with the wishes of my countrymenand countrywomen, I think that India should win this WorldCup.
Singh made the remarks during an interaction withtelevisions editors at his residence.
Asked whether he had any favourite player, the PrimeMinister said "Well I wouldn''t like to say or choose among theplayers but there is no doubt that I have some preferenceswhich I would not like to mention".
The cricket World Cup, co-hosted by India, Bangladesh andSri Lanka, will begin from February 19 with India taking onBangladesh in Mirpur. The opening ceremony of the mega-eventwas held in Dhaka today.
