Two thieves arrested
New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI) With the arrest of two persons,Delhi Police today claimed to have smashed a gang of cellphonethieves and recovered 10 mobiles and four wrist-watches fromthem.
24-year-old Gopi Chand and 20-year-old Mukesh, bothhailing from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested from the Jama Masjidhere when they tried to flee after stealing the mobile phoneof a 82-year-old man.
Both the accused were subjected to sustainedinterrogation during which they revealed that they targetaged persons and steal their belongings, especially mobilephones, police said.
"Further, at their instance, nine other mobile phonesand four wrist-watches suspected to have been stolen atdifferent places and time were recovered. They furtherdisclosed that they operate in trains also and dispose of thestolen articles at their native place," a senior policeofficial said.
