Two arrested for supplying illicit liquor

New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI) The Delhi Police today claimedto have busted an inter-state racket supplying illicit liquorwith the arrest of two persons and seized 366 litres ofliquor.

South District Police arrested Parvesh Rawat and Prehladafter police intercepted their vehicles and checked them.

"They tried to run away to evade the arrest but thealert team members immediately overpowered them after chasingthem for 2 kms," a senior police official said.

He said the accused were carrying 366 litres of illicitliquor for supply in various parts of Delhi.

"During the course of further investigation, it wasrevealed that accused belonged to wider network of interstateracket indulging in supply of illicit liquor in the garb ofprivate vehicles carrying family members," the official said.
