Mosque trustee shot dead

Mumbai, Feb 15 (PTI) A trustee of a mosque in SouthMumbai was today gunned by two unknown assailants here, policesaid.

Akthar Ansari (60) was riding a motorbike when one ofthe bike-borne assailants fired at him near Dockyard railwaystation, they said.

The murder appears to be related to some propertydispute in which Ansari could have interest," said HimanshuRoy, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime).

The killing seems to have been carried out byprofessional criminals, he said.

Though Ansari had been receiving threats, he had notfiled any police complaint, Roy said.

"It doesn''t appear to be a gang killing," he added.
