FIR against eight on land grab charges

Chandauli (UP), Feb 16 (PTI) An FIR has beenregistered against eight persons, including two policemen, forallegedly trying to grab land in Mehmodpur area here, policesaid today.

The FIR was lodged on the direction of a local courtlast month.

Sub-inspector Ram Narain and Babulu and six otherswere named in the FIR lodged in the city police station oncharges of trying to grab land on November 13 last year.

In the incident, over a dozen people were injured inthe village.

One of the victims Tanchu Sonkar had then approachedthe court seeking its direction.
