Bail denied to two of the accused in Revati murder case

Muzaffarnagar, Feb 16 (PTI) A local court todayrejected the bail plea of two of the accused in the murder ofa senior UP BJP leader''s wife Revati Singh.

Additional District Sessions Judge Rajbahadur Singhsaid the charges against the accused-- Ashok and Sunil --areserious and there was enough evidence against them to denythem bail.

According to prosecution, Revati Singh, wife of BJPMLA Hukam Singh, was murdered and Rs 68 lakh and ornamentsrobbed from her house here on July 30 last year.

Police had arrested the two accused and recoveredRs 52.8 lakh from them.

Police have filed a charge sheet againat seven persons-- Shankar, Jashodh, Lalan, Ashok, Sunil, Pradeep and Ravi --in the court and charges would be framed on February 23 by thecourt.
