Cabinet approves President''s address to Parliament

New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI) President Pratibha Patil''saddress to the joint sitting of Parliament on the opening dayof the Budget Session on February 21 was today approved by theUnion Cabinet.

The Cabinet, at a meeting chaired by Prime MinisterManmohan Singh, gave its nod to the address which will outlinethe UPA government''s policies and programmes for 2011-12.

The general budget will be presented to Lok Sabha onFebruary 28 by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. The sessionwill be in two parts -- the first upto March 16 and the secondfrom April 4 to April 21.

The Railway Budget will be presented to the lower Houseon February 25.

The recess between the two parts of the session will beused by standing committees of various ministries toscrutinise the budgetary demands for grants.
