15 injured as students clash

Patna, Feb 15 (PTI) At least 15 students were injured whenlocal students and AISA activists clashed while trying tostall teaching at National Institute of Technology (NIT) toprotest against death of their colleague.

Chandrashekhar, a student living in Mintoo Hostel underPatna University, was critically injured when he fell fromroof of the hostel on February 8 and died during treatment ata hospital on sunday, Senior Superintendent of Police AlokKumar said.

Incencesed over his death, All India Students''Association (AISA) activists today indulged in vandalism atthe colleges under the Patna University and disrupted teachingdemanding a high-level probe into the death of Chandrashekharand adequate security at the hostels of the university, Kumarsaid.

They later went to NIT and tried to disrupt classesagainst which local students protested. The AISA activistslater clashed with them in which 15 students were injured,police said adding the situation was brought under control bysenior police officials with heavy reinforcements.
