KPLT militant killed
Diphu (Assam), Feb 13 (PTI) A Karbi Peoples LiberationTiger (KPLT) militant was killed and huge quantities of armsand ammunitions recovered during a joint operation by policeand army in Assam''s Karbi Anglong district today.
Acting on information that KPLT cadres were hiding inKenaibegaon area of the district, the forces launched theoperation to apprehend them, police said.
On seeing the security personnel, the militants fired atthem and in the ensuing encounter a militant was killed.
Later during search operations, the security forcesrecovered a rocket launcher, a 9 mm pistol with 14 rounds ofammunition and 7 AK47 live cartridges, the police said.
Operations are on to apprehend the other militants, thepolice added.
