Agrovision to showcase agro products, technology in city

Nagpur, Feb 14 (PTI) An agriculture exhibition ''Agrovision2011'' has been organised here from March 4 to 7 that willshowcase agriculture products, equipment and impart knowledgeand education to the farmers, Chief Promoter of the event andBJP national President, Nitin Gadkari said today.

Speaking to reporters, he said that issues like croppattern, its restructuring, organic farming, contract farming,sugarcane and cotton production, financial assistance, greenrevolution, micro irrigation system, fisheries, goat-dairyfarming, poultry, sericulture and honeybee farming would becovered in Agrovision.

Gadkari who is head of Purti Group of Companies haspartly sponsored the exhibition with a contribution of Rs 25lakhs while Vidarbha Economic Development Council (VED) is apartner in the event.

The organising committee comprises former Union MinisterVilas Muttemwar, Datta Meghe, former State AgricultureMinister Ranjeet Deshmukh among others.

A national advisory council headed by noted farmscientist Dr M M Swaminatahan has been constituted whichinclude Vice-Chancellor of Dr Punjabrao AgricultureUniversity, Dr V M Mayande, former Union Agriculture MinisterP K Anna Patil and others for the event, Gadkari added. PTIJOE
