Two women arrested for abetting rape of minor girl

Ghaziabad, Feb 12 (PTI) Two women have been arrestedon charges of abetting the rape of a 16-year-old girl, policesaid here today.

Begwati, mother of rape accused Sonu, and her friendAnjali were arrested last night and produced before amagistrate here today who sent them to judicial custody for14 days.

They have been charged with of abetting the rape of aminor girl in November last year in Buxer town inGarhmukteshwar, 80 kms from here, Police Circle OfficerArvind Kumar Panday said.

Investigations have revealed the the women had helpedSonu by calling the victim at the site where the crimewas committed, he said.

Sonu was arrested and sent to jail on the charges ofraping the girl last year.
