Pension scheme for Panchayat teachers: Nitish
Patna, Feb 12 (PTI) In a novel initiative, Bihar ChiefMinister Nitish Kumar today announced that his governmentwould introduce pension scheme under the purview of ongoingmirco pension scheme for milk producing farmers in the state.
"We will introduce pension scheme for panchayat teachersunder the purview of the existing micro pension scheme formilk producing farmers in Bihar", Kumar told a functionorganised by the state social welfare department.
The cooperative milk producing farmers are liable for UTImicro pension, he said adding because of lack of coordinationbetween the state Human Resource Development official and UTImanagement, the micro pension scheme for panchayat teacherswas yet to be set in motion in Bihar.
He said he would soon hold a meeting with the officialsof both the sides and find out a solution.
Referring to the Kanya Surksha Yojana in Bihar, theChief Minister said his government was irrevocably committedto ensuring welfare of women.
He said more than ten lakh girls had reaped the benefitsof the scheme during the past three years.
