CBI''s Bhopal branch to handle trial in Durgesh Jat murder

Harda (MP), Feb 11 (PTI) CBI''s Lucknow branch hastransferred the Durgesh Jat murder trial case, allegedlyinvolving former Madhya Pradesh Minister and BJP MLA KamalPatel and his sons, to its Bhopal unit.

The CBI''s Lucknow team has authorised its Bhopaloffice to represent the Central agency in the trial, Patel''slawyer Radhakishan Yadav told reporters here today.

The CBI''s Special Court at Indore had transferred thecase to Harda''s Session Court on January 12. The first hearingat Harda was held in District Judge O P Dube''s court onJanuary 28.

That day, CBI''s Lucknow branch inspector Arjun Dwiveditook objection to the transfer of the case to Harda anddemanded that the trial take place at Indore, Yadav said.

In today''s hearing, two CBI Inspectors from Lucknowand Bhopal sought time from the court for taking part in thearguments on their objections following which the court fixedFebruary 23 for next hearing.

Meanwhile, the court has extended the judicial remandof Gyanesh Jat, one of the accused in the case, till February23.
