Arunachal welcomes ULFA-Centre peace parleys
Itanagar, Feb 12 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh today welcomedpeace parleys held between New Delhi and ULFA and said it willencourage other rebel groups of the north east to come to thenegotiation table.
"It is only through talks across the table that peacecan be brought back and any real sense of economic, social andpolitical development can come about in the region", stateHome Minister Tako Dabi in a statement.
Dabi also appreciated the ULFA pro-peace talk group''sdecision to hold talks with Union Home Minister P Chidambaramand Home Secretary G K Pillai.
The continuity of the peace talks was welcomed as thepeople of the region are "fed up of extortion, kidnapping,killings and bandh calls."
Dabi said he had on behalf of the state government timeand again endorsed peace talks with all underground outfitsin the North East, particularly ULFA, NDFB and NSCN factions.
