Uttarakhand government to launch cheap ration scheme for BPL
Dehradun, Feb 10 (PTI) The Uttarakhand government willlaunch a scheme tomorrow to provide cheap rice and wheat topeople belonging to below poverty line (BPL), Chief MinisterRamesh Pokhriyal said today.
Under the scheme named after former NDA Prime MinisterAtal Bihari Vajpayee, the beneficiaries will be given wheat atRs 2 per kg and Rice at Rs 3 per kg, Pokhriyal said.
They will get 10 kg rice and 10 kg wheat per month underthe programme ''Atal Foodgrains Scheme'', he added.
BJP President Nitin Gadkari will launch the scheme heretommorrow, Pokhriyal said.
In other districts, the scheme will be inaugurated bystate ministers, he added.
