Ten persons injured in Trinamool-CPIM clash

Canning (WB), Feb 11 (PTI) Ten people were injuredtoday in a clash between supporters of Trinamool Congress andCPI-M cadre at Basanti in South 24-Parganas district.

The police said at least 25 houses were set ablaze and11 shops were looted during the clash from the market atNirdesh Khali.

The clash broke out early this morning when CPI-Mcadre attacked the supporters of Trinamool Congress to curbthe party''s growth in the area, district committee member ofTrinamool Congress Jayanta Naskar said.

Meanwhile, CPI-M leaders said the clash broke outfollowing the attack on two party workers by TrinamoolCongress supporters after they returned home.
