Sugar remains sluggish on poor demand

Mumbai, Feb 11 (PTI) Sugar prices continues to trade weakat the Vashi wholesale market here today due to subdued demandfrom stockists and retailers coupled with increased arrivalsfrom mills.

Small sugar quality (S-30) dipped by Rs 1/20 perquintal to Rs 2,781/2,830 from Thursday''s closing level ofRs 2,801/2,831.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) also edged lower by Rs fiveper quintal to Rs 2,821/2,881 as compared to Rs 2,826/2,886previously.

The following are today''s closing rates per quintal, withthe previous rates in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,781/2,830 (Rs 2,801/2,831) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,821/2,881 (Rs2,826/2,886).
