Naga Students Federation (NSF) reminded the governmentabout its earlier memorandum submitted to chief ministerNeiphiu Rio on November 18, 2010 with regard to the presentjob reservation policy.
The NSF president Mutsikhoyo Yhobu and its generalsecretary Wati Jamir, in a joint statement, today said thatthough various commissions and committees on job reservationwere constituted by the state government to address the issue, the reports of such panels were "yet to be accountable to thepublic."
The students body asserted that with the change of timeand progress of the people, the existing policy needed to bereviewed and the issue be addressed without further ambiguity.
They pointed out that pending resolution of such animportant issue not only attracted litigations from somesections of the people who felt discriminated but also theentire process of recruitment in the government set-up was puton hold.
Stating that due to indifferent attitude of the stategovernment the career of the educated unemployed youth couldno longer be put at stake, especially for those youths who areon the verge of overage, the NSF urged the government toreview the existing reservation policy without further delay.
