Six policemen injured in a clash with people

Bankura (WB), Feb 10 (PTI) Six policemen were injuredtoday when locals clashed with the police following anaccident in which a local boy was killed at Mejhia in Bankuradistrict.

"Four persons were arrested after they attacked thepolicemen. The police had to resort to lathicharge to dispersethe mob," Superintendent of Police Pranab Kumar said.

The clash erupted when one cyclist, Sabuj Singh, waskilled when a mini-lorry hit him on Tara Singh bridge and thelocals blocked the road, he said.

The injured policemen were admitted to a localhospital, sources said.
