Rupee falls by 2 paise to 1-week low against dollar
Mumbai, Feb 11 (PTI) The Indian rupee fell by 2 paise toa one-week low of Rs 45.74 against the US dollar in earlytrade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange today, weighed down bygains made by the greenback against other Asian currenciesoverseas.
Dealers said the rupee lost ground due to dollar gainsagainst other Asian currencies. However, a higher opening inthe domestic stock market capped the losses.
The rupee had depreciated by 24 paise to close at Rs45.72/73 against the US currency in the previous session onsustained dollar demand from importers and some banks andsluggish equities.
Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensexrose by 63.60 points to 17,526.64 in opening trade today. PTISUN RS KPS ARV
