Mother and three daughters charred to death

Patna, Feb 11 (PTI) A woman and her three daughters werecharred to death when a fire destroyed their hut at Amarpurvillage in Patna district, police sources said today.

Geeta Devi, wife of Jitendra Thakur, and their threedaughters Aneesha (5), Anhu (3) and a six-month old babywere in deep sleep when the fire broke out and destroyed thehut late last night, the sources said.

The cause of the fire was being probed, they said,adding Jitendra Thakur was taken into custody forinterrogation in this connection, they said.

The bodies were brought to Paliganj government hospitalfor autopsy, sources added.
